Hey, I’m Jono.
I help organisations engage with neighbourhoods through community voice and environmental projects. I also offer online & in person Vegetable Garden consultations.
What I do.
Community Voice Projects
Potential Partners: Land Developers, Local Councils, Neighbourhood Houses, Schools, Religious Organisations/Churches and Community Organisations
I believe that listening to real felt needs of communities can enhance your community engagement. It is important to me to be genuine, not tokenistic, and invite real feedback, demonstrating actual care and concern for a community. I use conversational methods of data collection, utilising modes of digital and face to face conversations, to discover what your community actually cares about, before presenting this data to you showing where it intersects with your mission and objectives. My work focus’ on collecting stories and experiences, becoming a conduit between your organisation and your community or customer base.
Community Environment Projects
Potential Partners: Local Government, Land Developers, community/religious organisations, and neighbourhood houses.
I work with land developers and council to empower local communities to take care of the natural ecosystems in their area. A community’s wholistic health is tied up with the health of environment in which they live, and this is only strengthened when the community takes responsibility for the health and wellbeing of the waterways, forests, and open spaces around them.
I work to identify key stakeholders and community leaders to lead community environment projects. I network and foster relationships between stakeholders, before resourcing and releasing leaders to see a combination of social and environmental outcomes realised.
Veggie Garden Consultations
Potential Partners: Residential gardeners, community gardens, neighbourhood houses.
I work with home and community gardeners to provide veggie garden consultations to help you maximise your productivity no matter your space. I primarily work online via video call and Zoom, as well as in person (for local customers in Melbourne’s north west). In my 1hr consultations I will hear about/view your garden, listen to your hopes and desires, provide on the spot tips and trouble shooting, before developing a report to be emailed out to you so you can implement the changes required.
Garden consultations could be about:
troubleshooting problems in your garden
crop rotation and developing a seasonal garden plan with succession cropping (most popular)
fruit tree pruning techniques
composting and worm farming
soil quality and feeding your soil
